Almost everyone starts by searching for an epoxy garage floor, and that's fine — epoxy is the word people know. The important thing to understand is that there are three very different products sharing the name. The $150 hardware-store kit is a thin water-based epoxy paint. A contractor-grade 100%-solids epoxy is a thick, hard, industrial resin that builds real film thickness. And a hybrid system uses that epoxy (or a polyurea) as the bonded base and a polyaspartic as the clear top so the floor gets epoxy's build and polyaspartic's UV stability and speed.

Whichever resin goes down, the prep is identical: diamond grinding, crack and pit repair, and a moisture test. That is what makes the difference between an epoxy floor that peels in two summers and one that's still there when you sell the house.

Not well — most epoxies won't cure below about 50°F. That's one reason we top with polyaspartic and often base with polyurea in winter; they cure in temperatures epoxy can't.
A smooth solid-color epoxy can be when wet. We add an anti-slip aggregate to every topcoat, and a flake or quartz finish adds texture that gives real grip.
