Solid Color Coatings — representative photo

A solid color floor is the same prep and the same polyurea-plus-polyaspartic system as our flake floors, minus the flake. What you get is a uniform, seamless surface in whatever color you like — light gray to bounce light around a shop, tan to hide dust, a deep charcoal for a modern look, or a custom color to match a company brand or a favorite car.

Because there's no flake to hide anything, prep matters even more; every pit and crack shows through a solid floor unless it's filled and ground flush. We add a fine anti-slip aggregate to every solid topcoat by default, and we can lay out striping, safety lines and logos for commercial floors.

Solid color is a little less expensive than flake and is the standard for warehouses, utility rooms, and homeowners who want minimal. It shows dirt and tire marks more than flake does — that's the trade-off, and we'll tell you so.

Why homeowners choose it

Any color

Standard grays and tans, or a custom match to a brand or vehicle.

Brightest option

Light solid colors reflect the most light in a shop or warehouse.

Easy to sweep

No texture to catch debris; a push broom and a squeegee do it all.

Lowest cost

Less material and labor than flake, quartz or metallic.

Line striping and logos

Safety lines, parking bays and logos can be applied between coats.

Full warranty

Same 15-Year transferable warranty as every SwiftHand residential floor.

Our process

How the install goes

Every SwiftHand floor follows the same sequence. Skipping a step is how coatings fail, so we don't.

Free consultation or instant quote

Measure the space, check the slab for moisture and old coatings, pick a finish. You get a written price — online in minutes or in person.

Diamond grinding

We grind the concrete with dust-controlled diamond grinders to open the pores. Never acid etching, which is why our floors don't peel.

Repair & moisture check

Cracks, pits, spalls and control joints are filled with polyurea joint filler and mender, then ground flush. Moisture is tested before anything goes down.

Base coat

A pigmented polyurea/polyaspartic base coat is rolled on and wets into the ground concrete for a mechanical bond.

Flake or finish broadcast

Vinyl flake is broadcast to full rejection (or metallic, quartz or solid color applied), then scraped smooth once set.

UV-stable topcoat

A clear polyaspartic topcoat locks it all in — chemical, UV and hot-tire resistant. Walk on it that evening; park on it in about 48 hours.

FAQ

Questions we get about solid color coatings

Will a solid floor show tire marks?

More than flake does. Lighter grays and tans hide marks best; dark charcoal shows the most. Tire marks clean off with a degreaser.

Is a solid floor slippery?

Not with the anti-slip aggregate we add to every topcoat. Gloss without aggregate can be slick when wet, so we don't install it that way.

Can I get a specific color?

Yes. We can tint to most standard color systems and match a paint chip or brand color.

Can you add safety striping?

Yes — yellow safety lines, parking bays, walkways and logos are common on commercial and shop floors.
